Harding teacher suspended after weapons stolen from Jeep

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio -

A teacher at Warren Harding High School has served a two-day suspension without pay after it was discovered he had weapons in his car, in violation of school policy.

School officials confirm that special education teacher Kirk Zellers was disciplined after a police report revealed that a machete and two knives were stolen from his Jeep by someone who broke into his Jeep at the school in October.

According to police, Zellers and another Harding High School teacher were working late Tuesday evening when a maintenance worker told them someone had damaged both of their vehicles.

A report says someone had thrown a chunk of asphalt through the windows of two vehicles.

Zellers told police that a Ruger 9mm handgun, two full magazines of ammo, and a backpack with a machete, flashlights, two knives, and a ship to shore radio were taken from his Jeep.
