Coitsville trucker charged in fatal accident
A Coitsville Township man whose truck was involved in a Youngstown traffic accident in which three people died earlier this year is now charged in connection with a deadly accident in New York.

BROOKLYN, NY - A Coitsville Township man whose truck was involved in a Youngstown traffic accident in which three people died earlier this year is now charged in connection with a deadly accident in New York.
Police say 54-year-old Gilbert Demello was driving a tractor-trailer that struck and killed a 71-year-old man who was crossing a street in Brooklyn New York on Wednesday.
Demello, who remained at the scene of the accident, was arrested on charges of failure to yield to a pedestrian and failing to exercise due care.
The next date for Demello in King's Criminal Court is set for February 8.
According to Youngstown Police records, Demello was driving the tractor-trailer that was struck head-on by an S-U-V along the 711 Connector on February 23.
Three people who were in the SUV died including seven-year-old Noreyon Bason, five-year-old Nialaisha Bason, and 32-year-old Cedrick Lyons, who was the brother of the woman driving the SUV.
Demello was not charged in the 711 crash, but charges of aggravated vehicular homicide have been filed against Ka Nosha Bason, the driver of the SUV and mother of the children who died in the crash.
