Big Lots moving into old Toys R Us building in Niles

NILES, Ohio -

The Big Lots near the Eastwood Mall is setting up shop at a new location. 

The retailer is relocating from its current location next to Gabe's to the building that previously housed Toys "R" Us.

The new facility will have 34,000 square feet of space, an increase from their current location's 24,000 square feet. 

Work is reportedly underway inside the building, and Big Lots is expected to be open this spring.

    A family is safe after a blaze broke out inside their home Saturday night. The fire broke out at a house on Almasy Drive around 12:30 a.m. Officials say the fire started in the fireplace and then spread to an electrical box. The family was at home at the time but managed to get out safely. No one was hurt.
