YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A 16-year-old girl is in critical condition following a Youngstown shooting.

According to Youngstown Police Detective Michael Cox, Hector A. Perez Jr. allegedly shot the 16-year-old in the shoulder on Wednesday at a bus stop on the 1500 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Perez is allegedly the boyfriend of the teen's mother. The girl and her siblings had left their home after an argument with their mother.

U.S. Marshals arrested Perez on Thursday morning after Youngstown police put out a warrant for his arrest.

Perez is being held in the Mahoning County Jail without bond.

He is facing a felonious assault charge.

The 16-year-old is expected to recover.
