Home improvement company hiring as it opens up in East Liverpool

CALCUTTA, Ohio -

If you live in East Liverpool and you're looking for employment this summer or you want to get started on your home improvement, a Pittsburgh-based retailer is about to move in. 

Busy Beaver will open its newest location in Calcutta on Friday, May 24. 

The new store will be located at 15891 State Route 170. 

The Calcutta location is 60,000 square feet and is a full-line home improvement center.

It will feature an expanded seasonal department, an indoor lumber yard, a farm and ranch department and a designated contractor service center.

The store's seasonal department will offer everything local residents need to kick-off the summer, from flowers, mulch, stone, wicker furniture and grills, to competitively priced lumber and hardware goods.

The new store will also carry Glidden Paints, a brand of PPG, a global paint and coatings company.

The store is looking to hire approximately 20 full-time and 15 to 20 part-time employees.

The Calcutta store is Busy Beaver's fourth location in Ohio, with other stores in Ashtabula, Canton and Salem.

The hardware retailer also operates four stores in West Virginia and 15 stores across Western Pennsylvania, totaling 23 stores across the tri-state area.

"Not only will our upcoming Calcutta, Chambersburg and Red Lion store openings add local jobs, these communities will also gain a new neighbor that genuinely cares about serving customers in an exemplary way to meet all their hardware, home improvement and light construction supply needs," said Kallen.

A grand opening event for the Calcutta store is planned for Saturday, June 1 beginning at 9 am.

The family-friendly event will be open to the public and will feature giveaways, prizes and children's activities.
