SHARON, Pa. - The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce held its 15th annual Phoenix Awards Thursday.

The event honors the best of the best businesses in the Shenango Valley area.

The goal of the event is to inspire the business community to greater innovation and success. 

"Its really important that we show all the really great thing going on here. We know we have challenges in our area so it's important to show the great things and the successes that are happening in our area as well," Sherris Moreira, Executive Director of the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce said.

Two new projects received special recognition at the event, including Industrial Robotix in Greenville and Purpose, a therapeutic subscription box for assisted living. 

The 2019 Phoenix Award Winners and their respective categories are: 

  • New Business Startup Award: Purpose The Therapeutic Subscription Box, Hermitage 
  • Entrepreneur Award: Anna Marie Mindicino of Do Good. Period., Sharon 
  • Innovation Award: Olive's Place Boutique and Gift Shop, Sharon 
  • Growth Small Manufacturing: Industrial Robotix, Greenville 
  • Growth Large Manufacturing: American CAP Company, Wheatland 
  • Growth Large Service (nonprofit): UPMC Horizon, Farrell & Greenville 
  • Growth Large Business (for-profit): Sharon Regional Medical Center 
  • Non-Profit /Service Organization Award (Large): Tails of Hope, Hermitage 
  • Non-Profit /Service Organization Award (Small): Chelsea Rowe Rescue Fund, Sharpsville 
  • Beautification Award: Sara Giordano of The Insite Group, Sharon, and the Hanging Basket Program in downtown Sharon.
