Catholic Diocese of Youngstown announces clergy changes

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown has announced clergy changes in the Diocese. 

Bishop George V. Murry, S.J., has announced the following clergy appointments: 

Effective July 1, 2019: 

  • Reverend Kevin Peters, a pastor of St. Angela Merici Parish in Youngstown has been appointed pastor of St.Patrick Parish in Youngstown in addition to his pastorate of St. Angela Merici Parish. 

Effective August 1, 2019:

  • Reverend John Keehner, J.C.L., currently pastor of St. Christine Parish in Youngstown and Canonical Pastor of St. Luke Parish in Boardman, has been appointed pastor of St. Paul Parish in North Canton. 
  • Reverend Stephen Zeigler, the pastor of St. Ambrose Parish in Garrettsville and St. Michael Parish in Windham, has been appointed pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in New Middletown. 

Effective August 15, 2019: 

  • Reverend Benson Okpara, currently an administrator of St. Mary/St. Benedict Parish in Canton, has been appointed an administrator of St. Michael Parish in Canton, has been appointed an administrator of St.Michael the Archangel Parish in Canton. 
  • Reverend Zachary Coulter, currently parochial vicar at St. Christine Parish in Youngstown and Sacramental Minister at St. Luke Parish in Boardman, has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Canton. 

Effective June 15, 2019

  • Following his Ordination to the Priesthood in Slovakia, Deacon Simon Mino will return to the United States as Reverend Simon Mino and will be appointed parochial vicar of St. Christine Parish in Youngstown and Sacramental Minister of St. Luke Parish in Boardman. 

The Diocese says that there are going to be more changes to come.
