Remote Area Medical (RAM) is holding an event in Youngstown this September.
RAM is a major non-profit that provides free, high-quality dental, vision, and medical care to underserved and uninsured individuals.
Services will include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental x-rays, eye exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, women's health including mammograms and PAP, and general medical exams.
All of these RAM services are free, and participants are not required to have ID.
The event is scheduled to take place September 20-22 and will be at the Covelli Center, 229 E. Front St in Youngstown.
RAM generally opens the patient parking lot, located at Gate #1, no later than midnight on the first night of the event and ticket distribution usually begins at 3:00 a.m.
Patients will be served in chronological order when doors open, usually around 6:00 a.m.
In the case of an event outside of RAM's control, such as inclement weather or volunteer cancelations, ticketing may begin earlier.
"This will be RAM's first time serving the Youngstown community, and we can't be more excited. We know from working with local community partners that the need for affordable health and dental services is great, so we couldn't be more proud to be of service to residents in the area, " RAM CEO, Jeff Eastman said.
There is still a need for additional vision and dental professionals to volunteer their time and skills in the Youngstown clinic.
