Youngstown Tenants Council holds meeting on poisoned homes

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A newly formed group called Youngstown Tenants Council is looking to educate and empower residents in the city.
The group says that one of those ways is by properly renting a home.
The group also covered topics including lead poisoning, black mold, and other poisons that could be inside of rental properties.
Landlords and renters are encouraged to come to the meetings and work towards building a better relationship between the groups.
"We discussed different topics to educate and empower the citizens on how to properly look for a home, what they can expect, what the landlord expects from them, and to let them know what they should expect from the landlord. We want them to go into any situation with confidence," said Elisa Hosey, a member of Youngstown Tenants Council.
This is the second time the group has met with the community.
Another meeting is set for next month.
