Traffic update: Road work on schedule in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -

Road work in Austintown is on schedule for State Route 46 and Mahoning Avenue.

Justin Chesnic, a representative for the Ohio Department of Transportation District 4, said one turning lane at the intersection is completed, but more construction is on the way.

Work for the other lane is starting up and should be finished by the end of August.

Traffic signal upgrades will also be a lengthy part of the project.

The project is slated to be finished by October.

    Tax incentives are often given to new businesses to get them to come to your community. Lordstown offered them to TJX and to the new power plant. Two people on Lordstown council now want to set limits on any tax abatement given to any new business.
