Two arrested in Youngstown after woman is found holding baby, knife

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Two people are behind bars after an incident where cops found a woman holding a baby and a knife.

According to the report, police found 22-year-old Shaina Bell holding a baby and a knife on the porch of a home on the 300 block of Marmion Avenue in Youngstown Sunday evening.

Reports say Brown dropped the knife and police went inside, finding 26-year-old James Brown.

Brown had a box cutter on him but gave it to the police.

According to the report, the incident started after Bell pinched Brown, causing him to tell her, "If you keep putting your hands on me, I'm going to put my hands on you."

Police say Bell grabbed a knife and lunged towards Brown as if she was going to stab him.

Reports say the two went to different areas of the home before Brown attempted to pry the baby Bell was holding from her.

Officers say Bell slapped Brown twice during the altercation causing them to both pull-out knives.

Police say Brown threatened to slice Bell's neck and told her that her daughter would not have a mother.

Brown and Bell were arrested on charges of domestic violence and were taken to the Mahoning County Jail.
