FEMA reports around 500 people registered for assistance at the State Disaster Recovery Center at the Boardman Township Government Center between July 12 and August 15.

More than 900 Mahoning County residents registered for assistance at the DRC, online and by phone. 

Anyone affected by the Memorial Day storm is urged to register, and registration will continue online and by phone through September 3.

As of Friday, there have been more than $648,000 in grants approved to help Mahoning County homeowners and renters with uninsured losses. 

The center at the Boardman Township Administration Building re-opened Friday as a Disaster Loan Outreach Center, which is run by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
