Trumbull County inmate dies at hospital, investigation underway

WARREN, Ohio - The Trumbull County Coroner's Office and Sheriff's Office are investigating after one of the jail's inmates died after allegedly suffering a medical emergency.
Major Dan Mason told 21 News the incident happened Friday around 5:30 p.m. when an inmate collapsed and started going into distress.
He said people started to administer first aid on the inmate until they were able to get him in an ambulance.
The inmate was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, where he died less than an hour later.
Mason said there is autopsy is scheduled for Monday to discover the cause of death.
He added they tried to give the inmate naloxone in case he was suffering from a drug overdose, but the naloxone did not work.
Officials are not releasing the inmate's name until his full family is notified.
