Birthday, greetings, and recognition for a veteran who turns 100 years old in Youngstown
A centenarian from the valley is being recognized for is service to our country and on his 100th birthday. Uncle John Janosik was surprised with thanks and greetings from the U.S. President and others.

A centenarian from the valley is being recognized for is service to our country and on his 100th birthday.
Uncle John Janosik was surprised with proclamations from Youngstown city, Mahoning County Commissioners and a plaque and U.S. Flag from the Mahoning Veterans Service Commission.
"I'm thrilled about this," John Janosik said.
His great nephew Staff Sergeant Nate Kramer with the 910th Security Forces in Vienna, presented him with a letter signed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, and President Joe Biden thanking him for his service and wishing him a happy 100th birthday.
"It just caught me by surprise, all this attention I'm getting," Janosik added.
Four generations traveled to Youngstown to celebrate his milestone birthday.

His home was decorated with items from from elementary school days, the uniform he wore as a Staff Sergeant with the 42nd Rainbow Division of the U.S. Army, during World War II.
He served in Europe handling vital communications that were signed off on by the president.
His nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews say Uncle John was there for everyone and so now they are showing him how much they appreciate them.
Video Greetings will be coming in from other states and other countries in the evening.
"Oh beautiful family, I love them all," Janosik emphasized.
His family members tell us John has always put his faith, service to our country, and family first.
"He's the Patriarch. He always has been, always will be. He just keeps everybody together, making sure everybody is doing what they should be doing. He is kind and would give you the shirt off his back," Jim Kramer said.
John taught at high school and business education at YSU.
He remained active in his church, and veterans community helping others until around 5 years ago at age 95 when he retired.
"He took them and he taught them service, all of our kids, everyone of ours, my sister-in-law and brother-in-laws kids know service as well. That they learned from him. He's always there to lend a hand. Always kind," Laurie Kramer emphasized.
John Janosik turns 100 Tuesday May 30th.
