SMARTS holds open house, ribbon cutting at new Youngstown library

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Students Motivated by the Arts (SMARTS) hosted an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Richard James Hanson Library on E Boardman Street in Youngstown Tuesday.
The library is located on the first floor of the Ohio One Building, which has renewed its entrance and outdoor window appeal by changing the color of its window displays around the building.
The event featured a number of SMARTS teaching artists and staff demonstrating their artistic talents, as well as hands-on activities for children.
The family of the late Richard James Hanson donated his collection of art books, many of which are not available on loan anywhere in the Valley, to SMARTS to create the library, giving SMARTS an opportunity to create the library and provide educational resources to its team.
