NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Administration, staff and families cut the ribbon on UPMC Children's Rehabilitation Therapies, located on the fifth floor of UPMC Jameson.

Services provided through the new division include physical therapy and speech-language therapy for children of all ages, and referrals to other specializations including neurology and orthopedics.

The hospital said the newly formed affiliation between UPMC Jameson and UPMC Children's will "further advance specialty care for our young patients and families and provide more opportunities to improve children's lives in the Lawrence and Mercer County regions," according to a released statement.

The center's Director of Therapeudic Care, Melissa Johnson told 21News she was particularly touched by one of her long-time patients being included in the ribbon cutting. "I've had the pleasure of working with her and seeing her go through her entire career of school. She's now graduating and moving on to potentially some great things ahead in her life."

UPMC Jameson is located at 1211 Wilmington Avenue in New Castle, PA.
