Stark State College in North Canton is hosting an information session next week for Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC) students.

The session will be held on EGCC's Youngstown campus at 101 E Federal Street from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3.

Students can learn more about Stark State College's associate degree programs at the session.

"Stark State College offers the quality, affordability, value, classes and support services to help these students earn degrees and certificates that prepare them for immediate employment in high-demand fields and/or university transfer," said Dr. Para M. Jones, Stark State's president. "We're ready to help students enroll for summer and fall semesters."

Several colleges have expressed support for Eastern Gateway students since the community college began the dissolution process.

In addition to Stark State, Belmont College, Washington State College of Ohio, Cuyahoga Community College, Hocking College, Western Governors University and Youngstown State University have voiced their support for EGCC students.

Eastern Gateway will dissolve by June 30 if the school doesn't receive necessary funding by the end of May.
