Thursday night's storms are being blamed for an accident that snarled traffic on the Ohio Turnpike just east of Trumbull County.

Three tractor-trailers were involved in an accident at around 7 p.m. blocking all three eastbound lanes of traffic.

The incident happened near milepost 202.8, according to the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.

Charles Cyrill, the director of marketing and communications for the commission says it may have been connected to strong gusts of wind related to the severe storm that rolled through the Valley.

Crews restored some traffic in the area at about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Turnpike Commission, all vehicles have been removed. The right lane eastbound, which is currently closed to repair a guardrail, is expected to reopen later Thursday afternoon.

All westbound lanes are open.
