Police in Youngstown are investigating after a home was shot up Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at a home on the 300 Block of West Earle Avenue just after 6:30 a.m. Police spoke with the homeowner who told officers he lived alone, but his friend and his girlfriend were visiting.

The homeowner told police that he was upstairs playing cards with the two when he heard a knock on the door.

Police say the homeowner was greeted by a woman he knows who told him she had just been with another male down the street for about an hour and a half and got $30 from him, but she did not say why she got the money.

According to the report, the woman asked the homeowner for a ride, but he refused because he had friends over. Police say the woman left the home after this, but the home was shot up 30 minutes later.

The homeowner took police to the upstairs bedroom where officers observed the back wall and door to have been struck by gunfire.

Police asked the homeowner if he has any problems with anyone and he said no. He told police he knows the woman who showed up earlier because she's around in the area according to the report.

The homeowner told police he did not see any vehicles or people outside after the woman asked for a ride because he was upstairs with his guests.
