A Warren woman has pleaded not guilty to charges filed after police say she was drunk when she picked up two children from McGuffey Pre-K-8 school.

Raedonna Hightower, 50, was booked into the county jail Wednesday afternoon on two counts of child endangering and one count of driving under the influence.

Police were called to the building on Tod Avenue by school secretaries who said that Hightower showed up with a form used to allow parents or guardians to pick up students.

According to the police report, there were multiple lines and pen scratches on the form, but no legible words or letters.

As the officer walked outside to speak with Hightower, the secretaries began yelling "She just hit your cruiser!"

The police report says as Hightower began driving away with the two juveniles inside, her car bumped into the police cruiser’s rear bumper.

The officer ran to Hightower’s car and ordered her to take the keys out of the ignition.

Hightower was arrested. The children were turned over to a relative.

During her arraignment on Thursday, a Judge issued an order forbidding Hightower from driving with children.

Another court hearing is scheduled for May 28.
