A Rogers man remains on administrative leave from his job as an Ohio BMV Driver’s License Examiner as he awaits sentencing for stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly relative. That’s according to a representative of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Forty-seven-year-old Bryce Bezdek pled guilty this week to a third-degree felony charge of theft of a person in a protected class stemming from the theft of money from 77-year-old Byron Bezdek of Rogers over six years.

Authorities say the theft took place between April 2014 and October 2020.

Bezdek was secretly indicted in April of 2023 on two counts of theft from a person in a protected class. The second count was dropped through a plea deal that calls for Bezdek to be placed on probation for five years and pay the victim $25,000 in restitution.

Sentencing is scheduled for Friday, June 28.
