The final tally was 7,041 (63.1%) votes for the renewal and 4,110 (36.9%) votes against it.

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio - Voters in Columbiana County voted yes on the area's sales tax renewal.
The final tally was 7,041 (63.1%) votes for the renewal and 4,110 (36.9%) votes against it.
The county's 1% sales tax generates about $14 million.
21 News spoke with Columbiana County Board of Commissioners President Mike Halleck about the sales tax in January. He said if the renewal failed, it would have been devastating.
The 1% sales tax is crucial to the county's general fund which Halleck said is one of the lowest budgets per capita in the state.
A majority of the money from the sales tax goes toward funding the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office. Halleck said more than 70% of the sales tax dollars go to the criminal justice system.
