Valley Panera locations to hold 'Chip In For Children's Mental Health' campaign May 12-18

Mahoning Valley - Panera Bread locations throughout the Mahoning Valley is partnering with Akron Children's Hospital for the third annual "Chip In For Children's Mental Health" campaign.
From Monday, May 12 until Sunday, May 18, $1 from each Chocolate Chipper cookie sold at the 21 Panera locations owned and operated by Covelli Enterprises in northeast Ohio will go towards a community outreach coordinator to support teachers, counselors and other school staff with school-based social and emotional learning resources for students who experienced traumatic events that have negatively affected their mental and behavioral health.
Since 2022, Covelli Enterprises has donated nearly $100,000 to Akron Children's, which went to hiring Community Outreach Coordinator Nicholas Morio.
Morio has educated over 500 teachers and school personnel in 10 school districts across all three Mahoning Valley counties about trauma-informed social and emotional learning, restorative justice, rapport building, classroom management and more.
"Nicholas has done an incredible job in a short period of time to create positive classroom experiences for our students and teachers. We are so grateful for the support of our loyal customers and employees, which allows us to continue to support Nicholas's vital work and expand the impact of this Akron Children's External Affairs initiative," said Covelli Enterprises CEO Sam Covelli.
Chocolate Chipper cookies are sold in all Covelli-owned Panera locations. They are made with semi-sweet chocolate chunks and milk chocolate flakes.
You can order the cookies online or through the Panera app for rapid pick-up, delivery and catering. You can also purchase them in person at Panera's locations in Warren, Niles, Austintown, Canfield, Hermitage and Boardman. This applies to both Boardman locations with one on Market Street and another on South Avenue.
