MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio - The Mahoning County Public Health Board has received funding from the Ohio EPA Mosquito Control Grant and will be taking measures to control the population of mosquitoes in campgrounds and parks.
Below is a list of all the locations being sprayed beginning on May 26 to July 24.
- Mill Creek Park Campgrounds
- Canfield Fairgrounds
- Coy Park
- Boardman Township Park
- Austintown Township Park
- Poland Township Park
- Poland Village Park
- Canfield Village Park
- Woodworth Park
- Chaparral Campgrounds Western Reserve
- Lakeside Campgrounds
- Lake Milton KOA Campground
Those who have any beehives located within any of these areas should call the Environmental Health Division at 330-270-2855.
The spraying will be done between sunset and sunrise with weather conditions such as rain and wind as a cause for postponement.
Mahoning County Public Health states that spraying does not eliminate mosquito breeding sites and to prevent mosquitoes from breeding around your home you should clean your gutters, empty and dispose of water containers, change pet bowls, repair leaky faucets and prevent accumulation of water on tarps and covers.
