Grand jury indicts woman in connection with fatal OVI crash in Bazetta Township

BAZETTA TWP., Ohio - A Warren woman was indicted by a grand jury in connection with a fatal OVI crash in Bazetta Township in 2024.
According to a Trumbull County grand jury report, 35-year-old Britni Ulam was indicted on one felony charge of aggravated vehicular homicide and one misdemeanor charge of OVI.
The charges stem from a crash that occurred on SR-46 in Bazetta Township back in November of 2024 when troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) say Ulam failed to navigate a curve, veered off the road and struck a ditch and culvert before rolling over several times.
Troopers say both Ulam and her passenger, 31-year-old Frank Walter were thrown from the vehicle. Walter was pronounced dead at the scene and Ulam was hospitalized with serious injuries.
A crash report alleged that Ulam's blood alcohol level was .339, which is more than four times the legal limit of .08. Blood tests also revealed the presence of benzodiazepines and opiates in her system.
Court records do not show an arraignment date for Ulam at this time.
