LISBON, Ohio - The family of 18-year-old Cole Milsom is looking for justice after he was hit by a car early Sunday morning.

Milsom said this happened when he was walking to his girlfriend's house around 5:15 a.m. Milson said he was riding his bike, but started walking it while holding a flashlight.

While walking along State Route 164, Milsom was caught off guard when he saw a bright light coming closer.

After just looking down at the bike for a second, and I see headlights, at least 70 miles an hour coming toward me, and that shanks left, hits me. I'm flying off my bike, slammed down,” said Milsom.

Milsom was hit about a half a mile from Mattix Road, and flew into a ditch. His bike was broken into three pieces.

The vehicle pulled over far enough away where he could not be seen. Once Milsom got up, the vehicle took off. His first thought was to call for help.

“I did not think I was going to make it out. I thought the last call I made was to my girlfriend, and a lot of that does just hurt a lot,” said Milsom. “At this point, I thought I was going to die.”

He later visited the hospital to get stitches on his cheek and head, and to treat his broken hand.

But this is not the only time Milsom’s life was at risk. He was met with tragedy over a decade ago after being a victim in a Salem township home invasion.

In 2012, a mother of three was found murdered inside her home, and five-year-old Cole was found with severe head injuries.

“Blunt injury to the skull, which did lead to traumatic brain injury. So that was a large effect on my right hand, as it is,” said Milsom.

The Ohio State Patrol has been investigating the hit skip since being called Monday. Cole's family is asking any information to reach out to Lisbon OSP post.
