Austintown Road Department cancels afternoon job interviews

AUSTINTOWN Austintown Township Road Department officials canceled the Thursday afternoon session of open interviews following a significant turnout in the morning.
The interviews, intended to fill open positions in the department, were originally scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and again from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Austintown Township Hall, 82 Ohltown Rd.
Township officials confirmed the cancellation of the later session in a statement, noting the high volume of interest during the morning. Officials say they interviewed 25 people during the morning session.
The earlier news release announcing the interviews stated that the process might end early "if position recommendations are filled."
Applicants who missed the opportunity to interview are still encouraged to submit a resume.
The road department is seeking applicants with a Class A or B commercial driver's license. The starting base wage for new employees is $23.64 per hour, increasing to $24.47 on Jan. 1, 2026.
