From rain to snow we go
Wednesday was a nice change of pace compared to the start of the week, as temperatures climbed into the 40s during the afternoon. Clouds will clear Wednesday night into Thursday morning with temperatures falling to the upper 20s.
Thursday will remain mostly sunny for a time, but will turn warmer and breezy too. Thursday's high temperatures will be hit later in the day in the low 50s, and winds could gust up to 35 mph throughout the day. Showers will arrive close to sunset, with a line of steady rain arriving close to midnight. Winds could pick up during that time, gusting to 40 to 45 mph into early Friday morning.
Showers will transition to a brief rain and snow mix before sunrise, with flurries scattered after sunrise as temperatures fall to around freezing. Friday will be sharply colder with temperatures falling throughout the day and wind chills in the teens all day.
The weekend will be much calmer with some sunshine on Saturday and a mostly sunny sky on Sunday; temperatures will fall from the low 40s on Saturday to the upper 30s on Sunday.
Monday will kick the holiday week off on a calm but cooler note with high temperatures in the low 30s. Temperatures will jump to the low 40s on Tuesday and then range from the upper 30s to mid 40s from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day.
