WARREN - A new police report sheds more light on what transpired before a standoff at a Days Inn in Niles late Monday night.

According to a police report from Warren PD, police were called to a home on the 1800 block of Clermont Avenue NE just before 10 p.m. Monday for reports of a female who was shot in the chest.

When officers got to the home, neighbors told them that the suspect, 63-year-old Mickel Hall, fled the scene in a vehicle. He was later located at the Days Inn on Route 422 in Niles.

Police say Hall refused to come out of his hotel room until officers were able to subdue him after using tear gas early Tuesday morning.

Back in Warren, the female victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. The report does not specify her current condition.

Hall was arrested on a warrant with several charges, including possession of drugs, driving under suspension and OVI. A new charge of felonious assault was filed on Wednesday, December 17.

Hall is scheduled to be arraigned on all of his charges on Thursday, December 18.
