A Columbiana brewery, with the help of a local farm, is hosting a community Christmas Eve celebration at 5 p.m. Wednesday with live music and a candlelight service.

Birdfish Brewing Co. and Lamppost Farm are hosting their annual Christmas Eve service at the East Park Avenue brewery with music from Rolling Boxcar International's Rick Blair.

"We love to do a Christmas Eve service at Birdfish because of the invitation it offers to the people of our town," Steve Montgomery, executive director of Lamppost Farm, stated. "Birdfish is an extraordinary brewery where ordinary people from our town gather."

No reservation is required, and all seating for the event is first-come, first-served.

"The Lamppost Farm Christmas Eve service is one of our favorite things we do all year," Jon Dunn, co-owner of Birdfish Brewing Co., stated. "For the evening, the Ballroom turns into a place where our neighbors come together to celebrate and remember what it really means to show up for each other."

The event will feature a candlelight service, Bible scripture readings and Christmas carol sing-alongs.

"When Jesus arrived, he came for normal people in a humble manner but brought a message of unmatched transformation. We want to celebrate that with our friends in a place that matters to our community," Montgomery stated.

"It's peaceful and such an opportunity to shine the Light of the World into our community," Blair stated.

Birdfish Brewing Co. is located at 140 E. Park Ave. in Columbiana. The brewery event involves opening garage doors in the Ballroom during the celebration, and the brewery has advised guests to dress for the weather.
