Longest-staying resident at Mahoning County animal shelter gets adopted

According to the Animal Charity of Ohio, the longest-staying resident at the animal shelter has been adopted.
The post was made the Animal Charity of Ohio Facebook page on Wednesday, December 24, outlining that Onyx has been adopted and will be going home with his adopter on Saturday.
Onyx has been with the shelter for a total of seven years.
"It's hard to put into words what this moment means to our staff and volunteers. Onyx has grown up here, taught us patience, resilience and unconditional love, and has left his mark on every single heart he's met," as stated in the Facebook post.
Jenny Falvey, the Animal Charity of Ohio Board President, told 21 News that she believes the person who adopted Onyx will have a great relationship and patience with him as he adjusts to his new home.
Within the post, it is said that although staff and volunteers will miss Onyx dearly, their hearts are full knowing that he will be going to his new home.
"Our goal here at Animal Charity of Ohio is always to try to find homes for these animals, no matter how long that takes," said Falvey.
A video of Onyx was shared within the post.
