City of Sharon receives grant to improve multiple intersections

SHARON - The City of Sharon was awarded a grant by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to improve multiple intersections in the city.
The city was awarded $762,534 to modernize multiple intersections. A spokesperson for PennDOT identified these intersections as the intersection of North Oakland Avenue and East State Street, as well as the intersection of East State Street, Euclid Avenue and Stambaugh Avenue.
This grant is part of $30 million in municipal traffic signal upgrades from PennDOT's "Green Light-Go" program to enhance safety and improve traffic flow throughout the commonwealth.
This funding was awarded to 57 municipalities across 24 counties.
"The safety improvements supported by the Green Light-Go program will help municipalities reduce congestion, improve traffic flow and keep Pennsylvanians moving safely and efficiently," said PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll.
