Trumbull County receives funds for multiple improvement projects

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Trumbull County has received more than $600,000 from the Ohio Department of Development for multiple projects across multiple communities.
The county received a total of $636,000 to go towards various projects including the construction of sanitary, storm sewers and manholes along Cain Drive in Niles, street reconstructions on portions of Donley Road in Middlefield (Geauga County) and the installation of fire hydrants throughout the City of Girard.
According to the Department of Development, the Cain Drive project will benefit 170 people, the Donley Road project will benefit 70 people and the Girard fire hydrant project will benefit 676 people.
This funding is part of $11 million from the Department of Development's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which assists communities in completing a variety of infrastructure improvement and public service projects.
"Not only will this funding help improve everyday life for more families today, it will create the conditions needed to attract growth and opportunity in the future," said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
