CINCINNATI, Ohio - Seth Walsh, a Cincinnati City Councilman, has officially declared his candidacy for Ohio State Treasurer on Thursday, January 8.

Walsh, who is running as a Democrat, highlighted his platform in a press release announcing his candidacy.

"As State Treasurer, I'll bring real transparency to how Ohio manages its money, because your family deserves to see where every dollar goes and why. I'll protect public pensions while making smart investments and partnerships that strengthen our farmers, our neighborhoods and the long-term stability of our state," Walsh said.

Walsh has served as a member of the Cincinnati City Council since December of 2022. Ohio Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Clyde highlighted Walsh's track record as a council member.

"Seth Walsh has been a fighter for working people and a staunch watchdog over public funds as a member of Cincinnati City Council, and he'll bring that same resolve to Columbus as our next State Treasurer," Clyde said.
