America's 250th anniversary is being celebrated through various events and programs throughout the country, and Pennsylvania is celebrating by providing scholarship opportunities to university students until January 31.

The America250PA Semiquin Scholarship program will award $250,000 in scholarships to students attending Pennsylvania colleges and universities in the 2026/2027 school year, a news release states.

Pennsylvania high school seniors planning to attend an accredited Pennsylvania college or university can enter for a chance at receiving one of the 25 $10,000 scholarships awarded throughout Pennsylvania.

Along with the ability to apply for tuition aid through the Semiquin Scholarship program, several universities in the state are offering a funding match to eligible students. 

Some of the universities honoring a scholarship match include:

  • Allegheny College - $8,000 ($2,000 per year over four years)
  • Westminster College - $10,000 ($2,500 per year over four years)
  • University of Pittsburgh - $10,000 ($2,500 per year over four years)
  • Point Park University - $10,000
  • Duquesne University - $10,000
