Vivek Ramaswamy files petitions to appear on ballot for Ohio Governor race

According to a news release from the "Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio" campaign, Vivek Ramaswamy has officially filed nominating petitions to appear on the ballot for the Ohio Governor race this year.
To qualify for the ballot, 1,000 signatures are required. Ramaswamy's campaign reports that over double the amount of signatures needed were submitted.
"The energy behind Vivek's campaign is growing every single day because Ohioans want results - and they know Vivek is the only candidate who can deliver," said Jonathan Ewing, campaign manager for Vivek for Ohio.
Ewing continued," Vivek is a successful businessman focused on one scoreboard: lower costs, bigger paychecks and better schools. That's why the momentum is undeniable."
On Friday, January 30, 2026, the campaign reported a fundraising total of $19.8 million raised in 2025, powered by almost 89,000 donors.
Ramaswamy announced that he would be running for the governor's seat in February of 2025, and he announced earlier this year that his running mate for the 2026 race would be Ohio Senate President Rob McColley.
Current Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced his endorsement of Ramaswamy for Governor and McColley as Lieutenant Governor on January 7.
