Jury deliberates case of suspect in Niles shopping plaza stabbing

NILES - A jury is now deliberating the case of one of two suspects in a stabbing at a shopping plaza in Niles back in November.
An employee at Judge Sarah Kovoor's court tells 21 News deliberations began at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the case of Kenyon Kellum, who is accused of stabbing a man in the neck in the Gentry Center shopping plaza on Route 422 in Niles in November of 2025.
Kellum is charged with attempted murder, as well as two counts of felonious assault.
A witness said a group of people were arguing in the parking lot when the situation escalated and Kellum allegedly stabbed a male victim in the neck. Kellum was soon arrested at the Days Inn hotel less than a mile away from the plaza.
Kellum's trial started on Monday, February 2.
Meanwhile, Kellum's co-defendant Zulekha Berry appeared in Niles Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing. Her case was bound over to a grand jury, which will decide whether or not there is enough evidence to indict her.
The jury will be returning Thursday morning.
21 News will update this story once a verdict is reached in Kellum's case.
