Former Trumbull County Commissioner files for candidacy in Congressional race

WARREN - Former Trumbull County Commissioner Niki Frenchko has officially filed for candidacy for Congress Wednesday afternoon.
Frenchko is running as a Republican candidate for Ohio's 14th Congressional District, which is currently served by Republican Congressman Dave Joyce.
Frenchko describes her campaign as an "America First" campaign with a platform focused on the protection of Second Amendment rights, lowering the cost of living, border security, the elimination of property taxes, protecting public safety and fighting for farmers, hospital workers and working families.
"Our district deserves a Congresswoman who will fight for them as hard as the Democrats fight against us. They deserve an America First Republican who will roll up their sleeves and work - not career politicians on autopilot while Washington insiders sit around picking winners and leaving Northeast Ohio behind," Frenchko said.
Furthermore, Frenchko says her campaign will put people over politics, as well as support domestic energy production and an "America First" economic agenda.
"This seat belongs to the people - not party insiders or political elites. Voters deserve to choose their representative to Congress, not have one selected for them behind closed doors by party bosses," Frenchko said.
In addition to her previous role as Trumbull County Commissioner, Frenchko is a U.S. Army Reserve veteran, who holds a master's degree in public administration.
She has worked in local government consulting and planning, helping communities manage budgets, infrastructure, development, public works and essential services.
Frenchko worked with federal agencies to shut down human trafficking operations, and also took action against the Opioid epidemic by supporting enforcement, prevention and community response efforts.
Frenchko's campaign committee, Frenchko for Congress, will be accepting grassroots donations through WinRed this week, with more campaign information and social media channels expected to be launched next week.
