The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has restored speed limits on all major highways in Mercer County and the surrounding region following severe winter weather.
PennDOT officials reduced the limit to 45 mph Friday morning for Interstate 79 starting at the Grove City exit at Route 208 and continuing north to the end of the highway in Erie County.
The 45 mph restriction also applied to Interstate 80 from the Ohio state line through Mercer County to the Route 38 exit in Venango County.
As of 3 p.m. Friday, these restrictions have been lifted and drivers may travel at the normal posted speed limits once more.
Drivers who must head out can check road conditions and traffic delays at 511PA.com.
