Hazardous Friday morning commute greets Mahoning and Shenango Valley drivers

Drivers are facing icy conditions during Friday morning’s commute in the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys.
Since around 7 a.m., first responders have been called out to traffic accidents in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Mercer Counties.
A two-vehicle crash is being investigated along US 224, west of Tippecanoe Road in Boardman.
A head-on crash was reported involving an ODOT plow and a passenger vehicle along Route 305 in Fowler Township. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene. 21 News is working to learn if anyone was seriously injured. The stretch of road is closed in the area.
In addition, a multi-vehicle crash is under investigation along Interstate 680 southbound, near the Mahoning Avenue interchange.
Around 7:45 am, a Jeep was involved in a crash along Youngstown-Poland Road, north of Matthews Road.
Just after 8 a.m., there was another accident involving a snowplow and a passenger vehicle at Howland Wilson Road NE and East Market Street in Howland.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., dispatchers were told that a school bus and a truck collided at Main Street and Columbia Avenue in Greenville. The intersection was closed during the investigation but has since reopened, according to a social media post by Greenville Firefighters

About 15 minutes later, the Austintown Fire Department, State Patrol, and an ambulance were sent to the Northbound lanes of Route 11 for a reported pickup truck that went off the road south of Mahoning Avenue.
The crashes didn't stop. Accidents were reported along Midlothian Blvd in Youngstown at around 9:30 a.m. One was near Market Street, and another down the road at Lake Park Road. An ambulance was called to the Lake Park crash. One person was hospitalized. There's no word on the seriousness of the injury.
The other crash shut down the intersection of Market Street and Midlothian Blvd. until the damaged cars could be removed. 21 News is working to learn if anyone was injured
In Mercer County, PennDOT has reduced speeds on I-80 and I-79 to 45 mph because of icy conditions.
