MAHONING VALLEY, Ohio - Multiple infrastructure projects in Mahoning and Trumbull counties are receiving financial assistance through federal funding.

According to a release by Congressman Mike Rulli's office, a total of nearly $4 million will help fund these projects.

Areas that will be receiving these funds include Boardman Township, Lisbon, Struthers and Wellsville.

Boardman Township will receive $1.5 million to help improve traffic management on Route 224, such as adding sidewalks, turn lanes, upgraded signals and safer pedestrian crossings.

The Village of Lisbon will get $950,000 to help replace a sewer line along North Market Street and State Route 45. This project would complete Phase 10 of the Village's Long-Term Control Plan.

The City of Struthers is receiving $800,000 to increase capacity and improve outflow quality at its wastewater treatment facility.

Lastly, the Village of Wellsville will get $750,000 to help replace a nearly century-old water tank that supplies water to the entire village.

"From upgrading water and sewer systems to making our roads safer, these projects will strengthen our communities, protect public health, and lay the foundation for future growth," said Congressman Rulli in the release.
