GIRARD - Sweet Memories Vintage Tees & Candy presented Akron Children's Hospital with a check of donations on Friday, and kicked off the shop's three-year anniversary celebration.

Sweet Memories Vintage Tees has long used its nostalgic branded t-shirts to fundraise, and Friday, the company presented a check for $7,404.

The owner of the shop, Linda Barton, knows from personal experience how much a donation like this means.

"I made a decision at that point to donate a percentage of each shirt to Akron Children's NICU clinic because they saved my daughter's life when she was young," said Barton.

Sweet Memories Vintage Tees also debuted an exclusive Handel's Ice Cream T-shirt line on Friday, following a recent partnership, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Akron Children's Hospital.

Sweet Memories Vintage Tees 3rd Anniversary Customer Appreciation Weekend started on February 6, and concludes on Sunday, February 8 at its Girard storefront.

The weekend features a raffle, complimentary treats, and an exclusive buy-one-get-two-free on select tees promotion to thank customers for their support throughout the years.

Sweet Memories Vintage Tees & Candy is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. this weekend, and is located at 1282 Trumbull Avenue, Suite A1 in Girard.
