According to a dispatcher with the Youngstown Police Department, a railroad crossing gate is malfunctioning at one of the crossings in the city.

The crossing, located at the intersection of East Midlothian Boulevard and Southern Boulevard in Younstown, is experiencing a malfunction where the arms are stuck in the "down" position, signaling that drivers should not cross.

There has been no incident reported on the railroad tracks themselves, and the 911 Center for the Youngstown Police Department is anticipated to have contacted the railroad company about the malfunction.

No time has been shared about when normal traffic might be restored to the area, or what caused the malfunction.
