Mercer County Food Bank asks public to help win $10,000 grant

The Mercer County Food Bank is reaching out to the community to help it win a $10,000 grant from the GBU Foundation.
The nonprofit organization was nominated for the award by community members and passed a judging round to become a finalist. The GBU Foundation’s grant program is in its third year and focuses on supporting organizations involved in wellness, education, charitable giving, and supporting hometown heroes.
Public voting will determine the winner of the funds. The voting period begins Feb. 13 and runs through Feb. 28 at 11:59 p.m. Supporters can cast their votes at the GBU Foundation website: https://gbu.org/foundation/
Executive Director Rebecca Page said the money would help the food bank expand its distribution programs and reach more people who do not have enough to eat.
The Mercer County Food Bank is a partner of Feeding America. It provides food to more than 70 local agencies and runs six direct distribution programs. In 2025, the organization distributed 3 million pounds of food to residents in the county.
The GBU Foundation is a nonprofit division of GBU Life, a member-owned society based in Pittsburgh that was founded in 1892.
