After a one-day warmup, winter stages a comeback Wednesday, Thursday

Temperatures surged into the 40s and 50s for the first time in several weeks on Tuesday, but unfortunately colder air will return to the Valley for a couple of days. While it will not be as frigid as much of the winter has been, readings will stay mainly in the 20s Wednesday and Thursday. A touch of freezing drizzle will be a possibility Wednesday morning, and snow flurries can visit on a few occasions into the first half of the day Thursday.
Brighter weather is in the forecast for the end of the work week and the upcoming weekend. Temperatures will respond nicely; readings should return to the lower 40s both Saturday and Sunday.
The warming trend that gets underway Friday-Sunday is likely to continue into the first half of next week. We do not expect harsh cold to settle back into eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania anytime soon.
