State troopers are continuing to investigate a crash that injured a pedestrian early Wednesday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the pedestrian as a 33-year-old Akron woman. Authorities said MaryEvelyn Casey was walking south in the right lane of State Route 193 near Trumbull Avenue around 3:10 a.m. when a car struck her.

The driver of the 2017 Subaru, a 48-year-old man from Youngstown, was also traveling south at the time of the collision.

Emergency medical services took the victim to a hospital for treatment. Investigators described her injuries as non-life threatening.

Troopers kept one lane of the roadway blocked with flares for several hours while they conducted their investigation.
