WRPA Board looking to bring commercial flights back, appoints pilot to Board

The Western Reserve Port Authority (WRPA) Board has announced that it wishes to "continue to pursue commercial air service" at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
In addition, the WRPA announced that it has appointed a pilot to its Board, noted to be a figure returning to serve again.
Scott Lynn will serve a four-year term, which began on January 1, 2026, and will continue until December 31, 2029.
"On behalf of the Western Reserve Port Authority, we want to thank the Trumbull County Commissioners for their thoughtful consideration and appointment of Mr. Scott Lynn to the Western Reserve Port Authority Board," said in a statement from the WRPA sent to 21 News.
Lynn, according to that statement, has a "wealth of aviation expertise" and is committed to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
He had previously served on the WRPA Board, having resigned in 2014 after nearly 10 years due to "discourse" present on the Board at that time.
"We are thrilled to welcome him back to the Board, where his insight and steady leadership will be invaluable to our continued progress. We look forward to Mr. Lynn's valuable input as we continue to pursue commercial air service at YNG," as said in the statement.
