BOARDMAN - The Boardman Spartan community is coming together to support a 7th grader at Boardman Glenwood Jr. High battling cancer.

According to a press release, 7th grader Levi Kulikowsky is battling a rare form of cancer and has been undergoing treatment in Akron for several months.

The school has designed a special t-shirt (pictured above) with the motto "stand strong with Levi" and Boardman's mascot "Sparty" playing the saxophone to symbolize Kulikowsky's determination to continue saxophone lessons during his treatment.

The design also includes an orange ribbon to represent leukemia awareness, as well as energy, strength, hope and support.

The school has raised nearly $3,000 through shirt sales, and donations are continuing to pour in.

Those who purchased the shirts are encouraged to wear them to school on Thursday, February 12 in solidarity with Kulikowsky.
