Over $8,900 raised for family of Boardman student battling cancer
Just yesterday, 21 News reported on a t-shirt fundraiser held by Boardman Glenwood Junior High School for a student battling a rare form of cancer. That fundraiser has generated over $8,900 for that student's family.
Teachers and students gathered in the school's gymnasium Thursday morning, where they unveiled a check for $8,927.48 from Boardman Glenwood students, staff and families to be paid to the family of Levi Kulikowsky.
Additionally, the group made a video for Kulikowsky donning the very t-shirts they sold to generate those funds. You can watch that video in the video player above.
The shirts depict Boardman's mascot Sparty playing the saxophone to symbolize Kulikowsky's determination to continue saxophone lessons throughout his recovery.
