A weekend warm up is ahead; even milder next week

After a pair of gloomy and cold days Wednesday and Thursday, high pressure will build into the region on Friday and will produce a better-looking day. Temperatures will still fall a little shy of the seasonal average, but a good deal of mid-February sunshine will make it feel warmer during the afternoon. Friday night will not be as cold as the previous night.
Valentine's Day is Saturday and it will be a decent day overall with temperatures rising to around 40. Sunday is likely to end up a few degrees warmer with an increase in midday and afternoon sunshine. President's Day will follow suit.
After a mostly sunny Monday, Tuesday will bring some filtered sunshine and balmy afternoon temperatures. The string of dry days may come to end and during midweek, as the forecast does include a chance for rain showers Wednesday into Thursday. Harsh cold is unlikely to return to our part of the country during the second half of February.
